3 Essential oils to make bedtime easier with kids

If you dread the bedtime routine, feel exhausted from nightly wake-ups, or just want your littles to sleep better, essential oils are a great, natural alternative to help kids drift off to dreamland and sleep peacefully!

If you're looking for essential oils to help make bedtime easier, these are my top 3!

Lavender

When you think of calming scents, you probably immediately think of lavender. Lavender is one of the most popular and versatile oils used in aromatherapy. It helps improve sleep, calm the mind, and smells amazing.

Copaiba

Copaiba has many uses, but it's perfect for sleep because of its calming properties. If your little one struggles with calming down at bedtime or feels anxious at night, copaiba can be beneficial to their nighttime routine.

Vetiver

Vetiver has a warm, woody scent that helps to relax the body and calm the mind. Its often been called the "Oil of Tranquility" in India because of its deep calming and grounding aroma!

How To Use:

These oils can be used individually or combined to create a calming atmosphere and support restful sleep.

Diffuse Before Bed

Add a few drops of oil to your child's diffuser about an hour or so before bed. This will create a calming environment and help them relax as they get ready for bed. Before putting your child to bed, turn off the diffuser.

Tip - Having kids choose their oils or help fill their diffuser is a great way to bring them into the process and get them excited for bedtime!

Add to Tubby Time

Add a drop of oil, diluted with a carrier oil, to your child's bath to help their body relax and mind unwind before bed.

Apply to Their Feet

Adding a drop of essential oil to lotion or diluting with a carrier oil and applying it to the bottoms of your child's feet is a great, safe way to use essential oils topically.

*Remember: anytime you're applying essential oils topically, remember to dilute! You can refer to the dilution chart below to guide you.

Sweet Dreams!
