How to sleep like a holistic queen

In our fast-paced world, achieving a good night's sleep is crucial for overall well-being. Developing a holistic bedtime routine can enhance your sleep quality and contribute to a healthier lifestyle. In this blog post, we'll explore a comprehensive bedtime routine that incorporates magnesium & tart cherry juice, blue blocker glasses, a grounding mat, stretching with a red light, Frownies for a natural "botox" effect, and winding down with a good book under a red light lamp.

1. Magnesium and Tart Cherry Juice: The Perfect Nightcap:

Begin your bedtime routine with a magnesium supplement and a glass of tart cherry juice. Magnesium is known for its relaxing properties, helping to calm the nervous system, while tart cherry juice contains melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep-wake cycles. Click HERE for my favorite brand.

2. Blue Blocker Glasses: Protecting Your Circadian Rhythm:

As the evening progresses, don a pair of blue blocker glasses. These glasses help filter out the blue light emitted by electronic devices, reducing exposure to stimuli that can disrupt your circadian rhythm and negatively impact sleep quality. Favorite blue blockers HERE

3. Grounding Mat and Stretching with Red Light: Connecting with Earth's Energy:

Lay down on a grounding mat while engaging in gentle stretching exercises. The grounding mat connects you to the Earth's energy, promoting relaxation and stress reduction. Combine this with stretching under a red light, which can enhance flexibility and stimulate collagen production. The grounding mat is linked HERE and the red light linked HERE

4. Mouth Tape:

Mouthtape is a simple yet effective tool designed to encourage nasal breathing while you sleep. By gently keeping your mouth closed, it helps reduce snoring, promotes better oxygenation, and can improve sleep quality. Nasal breathing also supports oral health by maintaining moisture and preventing the dryness that often leads to bad breath and cavities. Incorporating mouthtape into your nighttime routine can be a game-changer for overall health, enhancing everything from respiratory function to energy levels.

5. Lash Serum Growth

Twenty/Twenty Beauty Lash Serum Growth is designed with your eye safety in mind. Formulated by ophthalmologists, this serum promotes healthy lash growth without irritation. It's free from harsh chemicals, ensuring it's gentle and safe for your eyes while delivering noticeable results. Enhance your lashes naturally with the peace of mind that comes from using a product crafted by eye care experts. Find it HERE.

6. Reading Before Bed with a Red Light Lamp: Unwinding the Mind:

Wind down your evening by reading a good book under a red light lamp. The soft, warm glow of the red light promotes relaxation and minimizes exposure to stimulating blue light. Choose a calming book to help ease your mind into a peaceful state, preparing you for a restful night's sleep. This is a link to the red light lamp HERE

7. Diffusing Lavender Oil: Aromatherapy for Blissful Sleep:

Elevate your bedtime sanctuary by diffusing lavender oil. Known for its calming properties, lavender oil can induce a sense of tranquility and help alleviate stress and anxiety, creating the perfect atmosphere for restful sleep. I always use my own brand of essential oils linked HERE

8. RiseWell Hydroxyapatite Toothpaste, Floss, and Mouthwash:

Before settling in, use RiseWell toothpaste bits for a nontoxic oral care routine. Made with Hydroxyapatite as a nontoxic alternative to fluoride, they have kids and adult toothpaste! Click HERE for RiseWell.

9. Forehead patches to reduce wrinkles:

I’ve tried frownies before and really liked them, but when I wear them too many nights in a row I always get a mini breakout. So I also started using SilkDermis forehead patches and also love them! Below I listed the pros/cons to both so you can see which you think you’d like best!

Frownies:

Pros:

  • Works very well within the first month

  • Doesn’t move/stays on all night

  • Nontoxic/safe to use

Cons:

  • When used daily for over a week, I get a mini breakout (I have sensitive skin though)

SilkDermis:

Pros:

  • Very easy to apply, one sheet goes on

  • Korean skincare

  • Nontoxic/safe

  • Sensitive skin approved

Cons:

  • Sometimes doesn’t stay on all night/moves

10. Skincare:

My full skincare routine is all Mad Hippie - I absolutely love them and have been using them for over 4 years. In order of routine I use their jelly cleanser (safe to use around eyes to get makeup off), vitamin C toning mist for hydration, corrective peptide serum, super a serum, eye cream, blemish cream as a spot treatment as needed, and sealing it all in with triple c night serum. I’m looking like a glazed doughnut before bed and I wake up with very hydrated skin!
