DIY Clean mascara

You may have ditched your toxic cleaning products and candles, but have you ever thought about the ingredients in your skincare and makeup?

Skincare and makeup products are applied to your skin daily, which can absorb into your bloodstream. If your everyday products contain less than clean ingredients, you may be overloading your body with toxins.

LOTS of conventional skincare and makeup products contain formaldehyde, phthalates, parabens, and other ingredients that are known hormone disruptors and carcinogens.

According to Safe Cosmetics, The EU law bans 1,328 chemicals from cosmetics that are known or suspected to cause cancer, genetic mutation, reproductive harm, or birth defects. In comparison, the U.S. FDA has only banned or restricted 11 chemicals from cosmetics.

When choosing clean products, I love shopping from all-natural brands like Mad Hippie, Blume, and BeWell. But you also know I love a good DIY! Making your own makeup is fun and surprisingly simple. Here’s a quick tutorial on how to make your own mascara.
