Non-alcoholic buzz worthy drinks made by plants: A Review.

Booze free drinks are becoming more and more popular as people choose the alcohol free lifestyle.

A few benefits of avoiding alcohol are:

  • Clearer skin

  • Weight loss

  • Reduced risk of alcohol related illnesses such as high pressure and liver diseases

  • Better sleep

  • No hangovers

For many, choosing to give up alcohol when you’re alone is simple, but then the peer pressure (why do adults still do this to each other?) of having “just one drink” when you’re having wine and game night with your friends because, hey, that’s what you always do!

“You always drank! Why are you giving up now? Are you too good for us?”

Would be the cries of a friend who feels like they’re losing their booze buddy.

Giving up alcohol can be a bit of a lifestyle change, but there’s some amazing alcohol free drinks out there that will still give you that “buzz” you’re looking for - all from plants.

I taste tested all three bottles from Three Spirit & have some yummy recipes to share with you, so you can share them with your bestie at your next game night.

Each bottle is crafted by an herbalist with a mood in mind. Go for a nice relaxing movie night or a lively dance party or just wanting to celebrate living life. Every day deserves to be celebrated, so let’s cheers to that without a hangover.

I’m spilling the tea of Three Spirit and sharing my favorite ways to enjoy them! Note that this is my personal opinion and description of the taste is in my own words, which may vary from person to person.

NightCap:

Starting with my favorite one, the nightcap. This one is relaxing and calming - totally the one to reach for when you want to relax and read a book or watch a movie with your boo.

Personally, I love this one straight on the rocks (hehe, I just love saying that. Cue fake & dramatic British accent) No recipe needed, just fill your glass with ice, pour, and enjoy.

Ingredient highlight: Valerian root, ashwagandha root, turmeric,

Taste: Honey with a bite, smooth

Feeling: Calm, zen

Livener:

She’s a spicy little drink, but not too spicy (I consider “mild” spicy, just for reference.) - more of just a tiny little kick of spice. As if I needed an excuse to eat chips and salsa, this is the drink to pair with it.

Recipe:

  • 2 fl oz Livener

  • 1 fl oz grapefruit juice

  • Splash of Kombucha or lemonade

Ingredient highlight: Guaysua, schisandra, and berries

Taste: Spicey, fruity (watermelon + pomegranate)

Feeling: Energetic, happy

Social Elixir:

This is a drink that comes with an acquired taste. If you watched my Tiktok review on this drink, I said it wasn’t my favorite. That was the raw uncensored first taste reaction. But, it turns out I just needed to try it with a new recipe - this is my favorite way to drink it. It’s giving me fun brunch with the girls vibes.

Recipe:

  • 2 fl oz Social Elixir

  • 1 fl oz espresso coffee

  • 1.5 Tbsp maple syrup or honey

Ingredient highlight: Lions mane mushroom, cacao, and green tea

Taste: Bitter, earthy

Feeling: Energetic, happy

Although these drinks are alcohol free, they are still not intended for children, pregnant or nursing mothers, and you should not operate heavy machinery after drinking. Plants are powerful.
